As believers we must come to recognize and appreciate that God’s word is the overarching, moving force of the universe. His word is not some archaic, inept museum character for modern conversation and exegesis. The Bible would have us understand that the word of God is living, and is powerful enough to reach even into the inner recesses of our soul, spirit, and our thought (Hebrews 4:12).
God’s word excels the senses. “…God who make the dead alive, and calls those things which be not as though they were” Romans 4:17. The word makes us love. ” He that loves not, knows not God; for God is love” I John 4:8. God’s word makes us more than conquerors. ” No in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us” (Romans 8:37).
According to Acts 6:7, the word of God increased as it was preached. The word in the Apostles mouth healed the sick, raised the dead, and rebirthed human beings. That very same word in your mouth today retains it’s power because when you preach it, you are preaching Christ; the one who is alive today, and alive for evermore.
