Christians, in many cases today, have come to realize that they have been made the righteousness of God. Possibly, more than a few understand that eternal life or the Divine Nature resides within them. Prayerfully, most have acquired the consciousness of children in God’s family. However true this may be, there is yet a great number of Christians who may never have learned the secret of joy.
One might surmise that a law would suppress the joy Christians might hope to attain. Howbeit, it is the law of the new creation which governs and promotes the joy a Christian may have. Jesus in John 15:10,11, declares, “If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in His love. These things I have spoken to you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy may be full”.
Nevertheless, you may ask how does one experience the growth of this Christian joy? The secret is through fellowship. I John 1:3, informs us, “that which we have seen and heard declare we to you, that you may also have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. And these things we write that your joy may be full”. This is the secret to joy; when the fellowship is broken, the joy dies.
Fellowship is simply the sweet, sweet communion between the spirit of the Christian with God the Father. In that fellowship, you experience the revelation of God’s word for every situation or circumstance. It is an unspoken assurance that permeates your heart with joy, no matter the test. Without the fullness of this fellowship, your faith cannot develop to the point of possessing victory over the adversary in any case. Therefore, it is incumbent upon Christians to walk in the light, as He is in the light; then no darkness can fill your soul, only His unspeakable joy!
