Doors cautioned not to be left ajar
slammed shut closed in your face
hard to be opened doors
just missed, lunged for
with straining arms
failed attempts to pry them open
ever present accusers standing
doors for entrance and for exiting
doors which close out and keep within
even when I reach them
I find they are much too difficult
for my hands are so full
hands struggle to open heavy doors
I stick my foot in
maybe this time I will make it
yet even with a stiff push
doors close so quickly
crushing my hip, breaking my heart
doors are unforgiving
however I must forgive
door jammers, opportunity slamming
doors must be faced
they cannot be avoided
Nevertheless I trust
one day I will have faith
enough to knock, knock, knock
and doors shall be opened.
