Health experts admonish us to eat a generous portion of fruit each day to supply us with the nutrients which help protect and keep our body strong. Many have neglected to heed their advice, and have suffered the consequence of weakness or ill health. In like manner, numerous persons have neglected the salvation that is found only in Jesus Christ, and as result have suffered the loss of the Holy Spirit’s power to produce within them the fruit of the Spirit, which provides the spiritual nutrient of love. Without this fruit, people miss out on the essential nutrient of love which protects their spiritual life and empowers them to overcome the evil of the world.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance; against such there is no law” (Galatians 5:22-23).
