Taking into account God’s means and manner of response to prayer, believers are to work, that is bring forth fruit, God’s word into their lives and in the lives of others. The working of God’s word positions believers to ask anything of the Father, having the assurance that He will give it to them.
From the gospel of John 15:16, we read, “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatsoever you ask the Father in my name He may give you”. Believer’s prayers ought follow the Divine order, addressing the petition to the Father in Jesus’ name. We are not praying to Jesus; yet, through His name, he has made us authorized agents with position to ask the Father anything.
That name, Jesus, gives the believer the right to enter into God’s presence and experience the answer to our prayers. Because we have been chosen by Jesus to work His work of God’s word in our lives and in the lives of others, we are positioned to ask anything. Asking anything means that we are positioned to bring God into our finances, our health, relationships, and into our nation. It means that Jesus is standing behind our prayers and guaranteeing the answer. He urging us to trust that “whatsoever we ask of the Father in my name, He will give it you”.
