Christian Disciples must first and foremost ensure that their identity is wrapped up in Christ. There should be no way to speak about being a disciple without speaking about Him. Our goal as Christian Disciples should be focused on the spiritual growth that transforms us into the image of Christ.
Matthew 10:24-25, instructs us, “The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord. It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master…”. The genuine response of Christian discipleship is that the disciple should always be growing, developing farther along this year than last, until the disciple conforms to the image of the Savior.
People should be able to see the disciple from afar and confirm that person to be a follower of Christ. Genuine Christian Disciples walk the walk, and talk the talk, no one ought be left in the dark as to where that disciple stands. Therefore, the genuine response of Christian discipleship is that one pattern their life so closely to the Master that they speak, act, and think like Christ.
