Jesus has offered us a friendship that is exceedingly more than a casual acquaintance, but, holds out to us a partnership of mutual esteem and affection. In this partnership, we experience him as a friend coming from God upon highest recommendation. Having come from God, he is privy to all the knowledge of God.
John 15:15, states, “No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from my Father I have made known unto you”. Jesus has promoted us, who do his commandments, as friends having superior knowledge and ability to confidently carry out his work with the assurance of success.
Considering that Jesus comes to us upon the highest recommendation from God, we are not in any doubt concerning the mind of God which He has revealed to us. Therefore, we pursue our careers as God’s kingdom builders assured that we are engaged in righteous labors which God will cause to become abundantly fruitful.
