Righteousness is a legal state or position which has been given by God to every believer in Christ Jesus. No matter what your present condition or circumstances, no matter what it looks like, don’t give up on your righteousness.
Satan will consistently attempt to infuse doubt and whisper worry and unworthy thoughts into your spirit, however, you must remain faithful in your use of the word of God to hold on to your righteousness.
Although you may experience moments when weakness and failure make it seem apparent that you are anything but God’s righteousness, don’t give up. Remember that “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (I John 1:9).
Righteousness has not come to you from the world; and the world cannot take it away. This righteousness of the believer is your legal privilege purchased at great price through the blood of Jesus. We have a surety of this confidence from II Corinthians 5:21, which instructs, “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin: that we might be made the righteousness of God in him”.
Settle this fact thus in your mind so when the testing of trials come you don’t give up on your righteousness. When the storms of life are raging, you remain confident that your righteous prayers avails much. When people would sway you or convince you that you are not ready or capable of spiritual adulthood, appropriate God’s righteousness as your sufficiency and supply; and never, never, never give up.
