Great numbers of people, including some believers, are in anxiety or fear of punishment regarding their redemption and relationship to God because they think they can not or have not done enough to deserve or attain that redemption. Such thinking is unfounded since grace is all about the giving of God.
Ephesians 2:8-10, instructs us, “By grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, and not of works lest any man should boast. For you are his workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works”. In the mind of God the new creation was made certain when Jesus rose from the dead. God gave it to all humanity through His grace.
Our position as new creations, justified and made righteous, has awaited us since the redemptive work of Christ was completed. God does not ask us to do anything, or give up anything except receive it by faith. Should we have to pay or work for our redemption it would not be according to grace but works. God’s grace is without price or condition; it is all about the giving of God.
