Although persons become new creations after believing in Jesus’ work of the cross, and accepting Him as Lord and Savior, many are still unable to operate in victorious faith because they have not renewed the sense ruled mind.
The sense ruled mind keeps believers in bondage to what they can see, feel, hear, touch, and taste; they refuse to believe unless their sensory mechanisms have been activated. this kind of mind must be renewed if we are to take possession of our inheritance, rights, and privileges as Sons and daughters of God.
Paul in Romans 12: 2, exhorts us to, ” be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God”. The renewed mind learns from its own actions how the will of God gives satisfaction to the believer.
Our sense ruled minds become renewed through practicing the will of God, which is His word. We experience renewal by acting on the word in every crisis, by daily allowing the word to have place in our lives. Such renewal develops a faith in the word that is powerful, and imparts the joy of living in God’s word.
