According to the Bible it is God’s desire that the church be the healing facility in the midst of a Satanically blinded world. Mark 16:17, states, “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name…cast out devils,…lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover”. If this is true, then where are the healing signs in the 21st century church.
God’s plan is that every person who is born again, the church, should market the New Creation by healing sick folk right in the face of an unsaved world. Just as Jesus’ ministry was poised to demonstrate conquest over demon oppressed sickness, so should be the case of the church in the 21st century.
Healing signs are missing in the church today because for the most part, we have failed to assume the authority given us to use the Name of Jesus. The Son of God, Jesus, was
“manifested that He might destroy the works of the devil”. We have been called, as the church, to act as His representatives, doing the greater works he did in the earth.
Acting on the behalf of Jesus does not entail pleading in prayer for the desired end. His instruction to us in John 15 and 16, is to “ask in my Name”. The sense here is that whatever is required, the Father has placed Himself under obligation to give.
Believers today should simply enter the throne room to obtain their receipt for the healing of the nations. Peter at the gate called beautiful plainly demanded the lame man, “In the Name of Jesus of Nazareth, rise and walk”. Asserting this authority of the Name of Jesus will empower us to effect the healing signs in the 21st century church.
