Through prayer Christian believers may enter into all of the wonderful blessings that God has for us. However, God is seeking the church and groups of believers who will actively cooperate with Him to receive the blessing. This is the challenge of corporate prayer.
An accusation may be raised against us in that we have suffered deficiency through our lack of Cooperation with God in our prayer life. As the psalmist states in Psalm 78:41, “And they turned again and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel”. Yes, in our refusal to cooperate with one another and God, we have limited God in our prayer life.
We can obtain a picture of the challenge of corporate prayer in Matthew 18:18-20, Jesus states, “whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, I am in the midst of them”.
This picture of corporate prayer provided by Christ should give us absolute confidence and overwhelming enthusiasm to become engaged in united prayer. Everyone who is a believer should find someone to agree and join in corporate prayer; knowing that whatever you ask, the Father will give it to you.
