One of the most sinister and deceptive tools of the archenemy is the use of enticement to draw people into foolish and destructive courses of action. Christians should come to understand, in alignment with the righteous response of Jesus, then, there is triumph over temptation.
Jesus met the enemy on his own turf; in a place where there was sparseness and lack, Jesus confronted spiritual dryness and the absence of apparent help. This is the lay of the land which may characterize your temptation, therefore, it is incumbent that you come spiritually prepared to meet the enemy.
Jesus fortified Himself in the word of His Father, implementing God’s will for His ministry, through baptism, identifying Himself with the people for whom He was sent to die. Matthew’s Gospel chapter 3, records Jesus saying, “…thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness”.
Triumphing over temptation entails that Christians prepare through strict focus on doing the Father’s will, that is, being doers of His word. Before Jesus met temptation, He had the testament of the Father, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I an well pleased”.
Then, through the tests of provision, protection, and power, He was triumphant. For every trial, test, and temptation of the enemy, an overcoming word of God is available. Immerse yourself in the word of God, living out the righteousness of your New creation, then, you will find there is triumph over temptation.
