How sorrowful it is that numerous brothers and sisters have made that walk down the aisle to give the preacher their hand as a sign of their desire to be connected to a local church, having never fully grasped their new status in Christ. Countless Christians are adrift with no foundation of faith because they just joined the church.
Becoming a Christian is not simply a matter of getting religion, but it is the realization that you have become a New Creation. You have become sons and daughters of God, taking on the Divine Nature. You are no longer bound by the Satanic nature and death; you have transitioned into the realm of God and life eternal.
Galatians 2:20, assures, “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me”. At the moment of your acceptance of Jesus as Lord and Savior, you did not just join the church, but, you were resurrected a new person, given God’s own nature and having dominion over sin, the world, death and Satan.
Second Corinthians 5:17, affirms that “old things are passed away”, and you have become a New Creation in Christ Jesus. Take your place, not as someone who just joined the church, but, as a Child of God.
