Arriving at Ephesus, Paul found there men who were believers, yet had not received the Holy Ghost. Sadly, numerous men and women today have made a profession of belief, but have not received the Holy Ghost. Much has been made of methodology, however, followers of Christ ought be assured of the indwelling of the Spirit since they believed.
Admittedly, the men Paul met at Ephesus had only received the baptism of repentance; nevertheless, there are contemporary believers who remain unsure of, or have no knowledge of their receiving the Holy Ghost. Those who ponder this question must first answer whether they have been born again.
John’s Gospel, 1:12, exclaims, ” But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name”. When you become a New Creation, God’s gift of the power of the Holy Ghost is imparted unto you. Based on God’s word, you must recognize and receive His precious gift for yourself.
The power that raised Jesus from the dead is available to all who believe on the Name of Jesus. There is no need to decry or bewail any circumstance or condition which may come against you. Simply know, “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world” (1John 4:4). You who are the sons and daughters of God, receive the Holy Ghost.
